Erasmus+ Training Course at Gebze Technical University
13–30 April 2026
Within the Erasmus+ programme, Dr. Ana del Arco (University of Jaén) visited Gebze Technical University (GTU, Türkiye) to advance ecotoxicological risk assessment for evaluating the effectiveness of Nature-based Solutions. She delivered a specialised course on “Ecotoxicological Risk Assessment: Behavioural Ecotoxicity Endpoints”.
World Wetlands Day at Gebze Technical University

The GTU Sustainability Office, together with the NBS4AQUAMISSION team (Prof. Ebubekir Yüksel and Prof. Mehmet Salim Öncel), held a seminar to mark World Wetlands Day, underlining the role of wetlands in biodiversity and carbon storage and the project’s work on constructed wetlands to tackle pharmaceutical pollution.

Café con Ciencia: Emerging Contaminants

Dr. Carlos Soria and Dr. Ana del Arco hosted a “Scientific Breakfast” at the University of Jaén with 1st-year Baccalaureate students from SAFA (Úbeda), exploring “Emerging Contaminants: from the medicine cabinet to the ecosystem” and how Nature-based Solutions help protect aquatic biodiversity.

UNIRC Takes Center Stage at BioDiv 2025: Innovation for Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration

The Spanish team of NBS4AQUAMISSION took part in this important outreach event. The researchers from the University of Jaén explained the objectives of the project to a heterogeneous public, from teenagers to not-so-young people. We discussed the emergent contaminants problem through a pedagogic card board game.
